Colleen A. Hagood grew up in Maryland.  After graduating from Queen Anne’s County High School, she entered the United States Air Force where she trained as an Administrative Specialist.  After graduating Technical School from Keesler Air Force Base she was permanently stationed at Langley Air Force Base where she worked within the 1st Security Police Squadron.

Since completion of her term in the military she has worked her way down the East coast by first working at Christopher Newport University and then Virginia Wesleyan College as Assistant to and proctor for Professors in the departments assigned to her for approximately 3 years.  After relocating to Chesapeake, Virginia she took the position of Office Manager/Payroll Director for Hydro-Pure Water Treatment Systems where she remained for 4 years until relocating once again to North Carolina.   There she was the Office Manager of Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville, NC for the next 6 years before her final relocation to Tallahassee, Florida.

Her career as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal began after arriving in Tallahassee, Florida where she first worked at Anderson, Culliton & Sullivan for Workers Compensation Attorney Sean Culliton for 3 years -- until Mr. Culliton left the firm to begin his own endeavor.  It was at that time the she began working for Attorney Scott Snavely where she remained for almost 7 years before accepting a position within her church as the Women’s Ministry Director.   After only about 1 year working as the Women’s Ministry Director, she realized her calling was more with law, particularly Family Law and chose to leave her position at the church.

In January 2013, Ms. Hagood began working at Thompson, Crawford & Smiley, P.A., for Attorney Scott W. Smiley as his Paralegal.  It is here she has found her niche working with families during some of their most difficult and trying times dealing with such things as: Divorce, Modifications, Alimony, Child Support, Child Custody, Adoption, Name Change, Post-Nups, Pre-Nups, Wills – basically anything Family Law related.

A resident of Tallahassee, Colleen is not only the proud mother of a grown daughter; she is also a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Midtown.  The Junior Women’s Club of Midtown is a non-profit volunteer organization comprised of young professional women that through volunteer services fulfills needs within our community.   Most recently she was involved with the Crawl for a Cause fund raising event that was able to provide over $6,000.00 to the Oasis Center for Women and Girls.  She also regularly participates in the Breast Cancer Awareness and Aids Fundraising walk/runs.
