Welcome to our first blog post!
I want to introduce you to our law firm. My name is Mallory Bennett Brown and I am a partner at the firm. There are three other partners – Tom Thompson, Billy Crawford, and Scott Smiley. The partners formed Thompson, Crawford & Smiley in 1993 and have been going strong ever since. I joined the firm in 2016. We are so fortunate and honored to have won the Best of Tallahassee Award for Best Law Firm for 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018! We are so proud of our firm, families and community.
Areas of Law We Practice
We practice in a wide range of areas including employment law, family law, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, construction law and business law, just to name a few. Recently, Scott Smiley became a Certified Family Law Mediator as well. We pride ourselves on being your “go to” firm in the event that you need legal counsel, whether to start a business, address a legal concern or plan for the future.
Our Staff
I would also like to introduce you to our staff. Our staff has almost 50 years of combined legal experience. When you walk into the front door or call the office, you will be greeted by Jamie, our office assistant. If you have a family law question, you will be directed to Colleen, who is Scott Smiley’s paralegal as well as the office manager. Amanda is Billy Crawford’s legal assistant and she also assists me. If you have a question regarding employment law or personal injury, you will be directed to Rebecca, who is Tom Thompson’s paralegal.
Community Involvement
We strive to stay involved in the community including Springtime Tallahassee, Tallahassee Senior Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend. We feel that it is important to give back to our community and support it as much as we can.

We firmly believe our clients have the right to know and speak directly with the attorney who will be handling their case. Our clients are also part of the team and are free to ask questions and make suggestions regarding strategy. Most importantly, our clients have the right to have their telephone calls returned and emails responded to promptly.
